Mary Joy

Our beloved daughter, sister and friend passed away at home on August 24th after a five-year battle with ovarian cancer. She was 52. Preceded in death by her father, John R. Joy, Mary is survived by her mother, Catherine Joy of Beavercreek, her brother Michael, her sister, Judy, and niece, Katelyn. A graduate of Wright State University, Mary served for nearly 30 years as a Registered Nurse. She adventured for 20 years in Yellowstone Park, Montana and more recently resided in Atlanta, Georgia. Mary devoured life with determination and embraced the challenges and opportunities of her season of illness with faith, courage, style and grace. An inspiration to many, she will be deeply missed. Memorial services: Sunday, September 20, 2015 at 3 pm at the Gwinnett Environmental and Heritage Center, 2020 Clean Water Drive, Buford, GA 30519. Flowers are welcome. I think I remember Mary. A quiet girl, perhaps a little bookish and a gentle soul. Sleep well, Mary.

Mary was a terrific person. She was loved by many. She will be remembered for her sense of adventure and kindness for others. She will be missed.
