Richard A. “Rick” Janning
age 48 of Beavercreek, passed away Friday, February 18, 2011 at his home. Rick was a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Sheri Janning; daughter, Sarah Janning; son, Danny Janning; step-son, Ryan Sullivan; parents, John and Dolores Janning; sisters and brothers-in-law, Kathy and Larry Weldon, Janet and John Owens, Theresa and Kurt Schnabel and Jackie Janning; brothers and sisters-in-law, Larry and Donna Janning and Tom and Diane Janning; 15 nieces and nephews and numerous friends. Rick was a 1981 graduate of Beavercreek High School and earned his BS degree from Wright State University in 1986. He worked as a Systems Analyst for Kronos Inc. for 21 years. He was a member of the Citizens Police Academy for the Beavercreek Police Department, was an avid NASCAR, REO Speedwagon and Cincinnati Bengals fan. Rick will be remembered by his family and friends for his smile, quick wit and willingness to lend a helping hand. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at the Church of the Ascension, 2025 Woodman Dr. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. His family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-BEAVERCREEK CHAPEL, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Rd. In lieu of flowers, contributions are requested to be made to the Education Fund for Danny and Sarah Janning at Huntington Bank or in honor of Rick, “Pay it Forward” by helping someone in need.
