William Adlai Stone, cherished brother, age 58, departed this world January 10, 2021 after a difficult battle with cancer. Bill was born in Dayton, Ohio on November 17, 1962. He attended Beavercreek Schools, graduating from Beavercreek High School in 1981. Bill was active in horseback riding, wrestling, jazz band, Little People of America, and as a foreign exchange student, spent his last year of high school in Basel, Switzerland.

Bill pursued a career as a machinist and maintained a life-long interest in American history, particularly in the history of WWII and American aviation. He was an engaging, enlightening conversationalist. In 2006, Bill left Ohio to explore life in New Orleans and then Houston. Bill left many close friends along the coast - his trademark easy going, gregarious nature found friends wherever he went.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents Jean and Frank Stone, and his sisters Becky and Lisa. Bill is survived by his brothers Bob, Ben and Ray Stone and his sisters Betsy Witt and Elizabeth Sorensen; all of Ohio. Bill’s family expresses deep gratitude to Kenny Guerra of New Orleans, and in Houston, Kevin Campbell and the St. Joseph Clubhouse, the Harris County Housing Authority, Dr. Victoria Serpas and the exceptional Harris Health team, Pastor Evan McClanahan of Immanuel Lutheran Church, and Harbor Hospice for their compassionate care and endless patience. As he wished, Bill’s body was donated to the University of Texas McGovern Medical School.

In lieu of flowers or cards, the family requests donations to the St. Joseph Clubhouse, 3307 Austin St., Houston TX 77004. You may donate via the SJC website or send checks made out to Magnificat Houses, Inc. to PO Box 2641, Houston TX 77252-2641.
