Samuel Hamilton II

1963 - 2014

Samuel Newton Hamilton II, 50, of Elmhurst, passed away Friday, February 14 after a brief illness following an almost life long battle with cancer. Beloved Husband of Nancy L. nee Ward; loving father of Samantha and Alex whom always made him immensely proud; dear son of Samuel and Catherine Hamilton; brother of Julia (Adam) King; son -in-law of John and Doris Ward; brother-in-law of Bob (Jessica) Ward; uncle of Lewis and Hamilton King and Johnny and Jason Ward; nephew and cousin of numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Sam was born June 8, 1963 in Beavercreek Ohio, the son of Samuel and Catherine Hamilton. He graduated in 1981 from Beavercreek High School, received a B.S in Engineering from The Ohio State University in 1986, and a MBA from DePaul University in1993. In 1990, he married Nancy Ward. Sam's career spanned over 25 years for the Quaker Oats Company and PepsiCo, most recently as a supply chain manager. Sam was a friend to many and also leaves behind his best-friends from grade school and Jr. High; Jim Speelman, Ric Oberkrom and Tim Wolfe. Although they have scattered from their hometown of Beavercreek, they have remained lifelong friends through their families, vacations together and Buckeye football. Memorial Visitation at Ahlgrim Funeral Home, 567 S. Spring Rd., Elmhurst from 2:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. with a memorial service at 5:00 P.M. Monday February 17. Interment Private.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to the American Cancer Society (cancer.org) or the National Association for Down Syndrome (nads.org).

Sam is another one of those real nice guys. He was always smiling and a friend to everyone. When I saw him at the 20th he looked really healthy and I thought he had beaten the cancer.
